Mrs.

Being Mrs. Nicole Shadle is certainly going to take some getting used to. I still find myself signing Leghart at times. Todd and I changed our bank accounts and I changed my name with work. I think I've changed my name in every place I need to. So I am officially Nicole Shadle for anyone who is concerned. While Todd and I were driving yesterday I got a phone call. When I answered the man said "Yes, Mrs. Shadle". Not used to that yet, but it definately made me smile! =)

Todd and I are finally getting settled into our house. Our den/computer room is almost cleaned and organized. We both went through boxes this morning and got everything in that room unpacked. Unfortunatley part of getting that room organized was taking even more stuff up into the loft. Oh well, we still have a month before school starts to get everything situated.

I'm enjoying my rental car. If I had to buy a new car at the moment I would definately look into the Hundyai (OkI haveNO idea how to spell that) Sonata... it rides really nice, its roomy, I like it. If you don't know why I have a rental... while we were on our honeymoon my sister was using my car (because hers burned up... another long story) and a lady ran a stop sign and wrecked into the drivers side. Luckily everyone is ok. My car is just being fixed because the door got all messed up.

OK, I'm once again rambling an I have some errands to do before my wonderful husband gets home from football.

Ok, so I don't know how this will look becaue I've never uploaded more than one picture, but oh well.
Here are a few pictures from the wedding that I have so far. We still haven't seen the pictures from the photographer yet, but here are a few favorites from snapshots from people's camera.

Mrs. Shadle

Wow, Mrs. Shadle... kinda weird. Last time I blogged we had just been to our friends wedding 2 weeks prior to ours. As you can probably imagine I got busy with the wedding in those last couple of weeks. Todd and I have no been married for 11 days! (1 year ago today we got engaged) That year flew by. The wedding was absolutely perfect. There were a few "almost" mishaps, but in the end everything worked out. I was surprisingly very calm all morning (even when it started raining). I was taking in every moment so I could remember everything about the day. It was so much fun. Yes, I did start crying walking down the aisle and giving my vows, but I expected to cry throughout everything, so I think I did alright. =)
Todd and I feel very blessed that so many people came to celebrate in our marraige. The Church had more people that I thought it would and the reception was breathtaking. As Todd and I sat at the head table, we both mentioned to each other how each table was packed. We truly do feel blessed to have so many people love and support us. So if you were one of them, thank you! Reception was awesome... the bridal party dance was a surprise... the music cut out and Michael Jackson's Thriller came on. We had learned about a minute of the song. It was a fun adrenaline rush. I just want to once again say thank you to anyone who helped in any way with the wedding and especially to those who were a part of the bridal party (and parents). I thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing by us and supporting us.
Honeymoon was great... weather was nice, couldn't have asked for more. I will post pictures soon.

Today we got our official marraige license in the mail. I also officially changed my name with social security. I am going to get my license tomorrow which will allow me to set up our banking and change all my credit cards and bills and whatnot. It was sorta weird when the lady asked me to sign my new name. Nicole L. Shadle =) I love it!

Todd and I got on a phone plan together... so he has a new number I'm sure he will be contacting you to let you get the new number.

We also went grocery shopping for the first time. It was a little overwhelming! We had a cart FULL! We had to get all the little things that you don't necessarily think about, like flour, sugar, butter, etc. We felt like we were buying the whole store, but our cupboards and refrigerator are full now and we can eat good!

I won't keep rambling on. I feel like so much has happened in the last 2 weeks, but I'll quit there for now. I gotta go start dinner for my husband ;)

ReALiZaTioN

Over the weekend, Todd's was a groomsman in his friends wedding. We went up for the weekend to hang out with everyone. The wedding and reception were nice. It really made everything real. I am getting married in 2 weeks! I know I say it every blog, but it seems like we just got engaged. I can't believe we are getting married in just 2 weeks. These two weeks are going to fly by and we will be getting ready for the big day before we know it. Todd and I are trying to relax and enjoy the next few weeks so we can be relaxed and calm for the wedding. I want to take in every moment. I already know it's going to go by fast, so I want to make sure I am taking each moment in. =) It's so exciting. I have my "wedding to-do list" sitting on my desk. There are a few things left on it, which we are trying to get done this week.

House is still coming along. My mom hung our curtains in our bedroom and the valances in our kitchen. We have one room left to get curtains! We moved my bedroom set to the new house, so we are starting to get our room in order. Also on the to do list for the next two weeks is to finish getting the house ready and cleaned so we have less to do after the honeymoon. (which also adds packing for the honeymoon to the "to-do" list!)

The excitement will take place in just 2 weeks! I'm very excited... but also starting to get very nervous/anxious/jittery (sp?) and a lil overwhelmed... but I know it's going to be an awesome day and I'm so excited to share it with my family and friends.

19 days

Less than 3 weeks until the wedding. It's so weird to think that we've been planning this wedding for almost a year now. It has really gone by so fast. I am so excited to stand before my family and friends and marry the one person that is perfect for me. We went to get our marraige license today. Good news... we passed, we're allowed to get married. Good thing, because with 19 days to go, I'm thinking my mom would be a little unhappy to be out all that money. =)
The house is coming along. We are down to cleaning and organizing. I cleaned the kitchen today and it actually looks like a kitchen! The living room is somewhat put together. Just trying to decorate by hanging pictures and accents around the room. Thursday I start moving my bedroom furniture in the house. We want to try and get everything done before the wedding, so we don't have to worry about it when we come home from the honeymoon. And yes, for those of you who are wondering, I will be sleeping on an air matress for the next few weeks! Anyway, the house is coming together and we're both excited to finally be able to sit and relax on our couch.
Wedding plans are coming along also. I try to cross a few things off my list each day. We're obviously down to the little things, but they can still be very stressful. I'm trying to keep my perspective and not stress out, but I admit sometimes it gets the best of me. No matter what, I know I love Todd, and we will get through all the chaos and be able to begin our new life together.

Got some family coming in town next week and I'm super excited to get to hang out and relax with them for a week before the wedding.

Todd's in a wedding this weekend. His good friend Jarrod and Lindsay are getting married up in Camfield. It's going to weird (good weird) to be at a wedding 2 weeks before ours. I will have all the same thoughts floating through my head that I'm sure Lindsay is thinking right now.

I'll try to post pics of the house soon...

~*~5 weeks~*~

5 weeks until I will be Mrs. Todd Shadle. The weeks are flying by. I really feel like it was just a month ago that we were sitting by the ocean with Todd on one knee. The 11 months so far have gone super fast. Plans are starting to be completed and finalized and it's all becoming more and more real. I tend to be SUPER emotional lately. (I've always cried easily, but lately it's been much easier!) I'm anxious, excited, nervous, happy, all these emotions bundled up at the same time.

The house is coming along nicely. The hallway and bathroom are being painted this weekend (Thanks to my lovely sister helping me!) A friend of the family fixed our side door and put our new "closet" / cabinet space in the bathroom. He completely tore our old one out and made a very nice new one that looks great in the bathroom. Our carpet is being installed Monday, our area rug for the living room is being delivered on Monday, and the house is slowly getting cleaned up. Todd is hoping to move in this coming week. (I wouldn't yet because I wouldn't want to live amongst a mess, but Todd is fine as long as he has a bathroom and a bed) We are going to try to get his big stuff, like his bed, desk, and the couches moved in this week. I leave for Alabama on Saturday (for a week) and when I get back I will slowly start to move some of my stuff in. After this weekend, we should only have to paint the stairwell, both doors, and get new locks. Other than that it should just be cleaning.

I am going to Alabama for a week. One of my boys qualified for the national speech tournament that is held in Burmingham this year. I will be gone from Sat-Sat. I am excited, because the trips are usually fun, and we get sun, and get to do some pretty cool things. I can't say that I won't be missing Todd... and that I won't be thinking about other things. I will have so much on my mind with the wedding so close and the house needing work still. I am taking as much wedding stuff with me as I can and I'm making a list of things to do at the house for whoever is willing to help!

The wedding day will be here before we know it! I hope everyone has a good time celebrating our love for one another! =)

Coming along

The house is really coming along. We closed in March and have been working on it for roughly 2 months now. We are finally starting to see progress. The living room floor has been stained and varnished and looks very nice. We just bought an area rug (on sale for only $112!) for the middle of the hardwood floor. Our bedroom and loft is finished other than just cleaning. The kitchen is done! The den is done! The spare room just needs carpet (which is next on our list after the bathroom) and today we just bought the rest of the bathroom. We're hoping by the end of the weekend we can have the bathroom floor, walls, and molding up and then I can start painting and get the toilet and sink in. It is going to be great once Todd and I are able to work in the house and then actually sit down on a couch and relax... now we work on the house and then go our separate ways to our parents houses.

Wedding plans are coming along. We're in the process of picking songs for the reception (yes, we will be doing all the fun songs like the chicken dance and the hokey pokey. If you're one of those people that don't like them, sorry, but I love them!) We have to print out the programs and glue ribbons on the bubbles (anyone wanna help?). It's down to small things. It's been fun and I am trying so hard to love it and take the time to love it, because I know July 11th will be here before you know it.

15 days of school/work left until summer break!

Yea!!

Yea!! Our levy passed! It was great to see the support of the community. Our levy passed with 64% of the votes! I still don't know how safe I feel with my job. There is only one teacher that was hired after me. There are being cuts made to continue to help save the school money and the cuts could or could not effect me. I'm happy that no matter what the school is open for the kids. I can find another job, many of them would not have been able to find another school. I am sad because should I have to leave I don't want to. I love the kids and they are so great to work with. However, I am trying not to stress out because I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. Should I be let go from Stark MRDD, I will find something better that I should be doing.

Today was mother's day! Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's! Especially the 3 that I know are enjoying their first mom's day... Melissa, Meredith and Kelly! After Church Todd and I went to my grams house for lunch, then we had pizza at my future in-laws with Dawn & the girls. It was a fun night. Todd and I were very silly. We were wrestling and laughing alot! It's good to have fun with each other and also to know that he loves me! =)

The house is coming along. The tub should be installed this week sometime. On Saturday Todd and his dad sanded the hardwood floor and stained it. Todd and I then did a second coat. My mom helped paint the closets, and started stripping some of our doors so we can restain them. My sister did the bedroom and I think it is finally ready to be cleaned up and finished! Nadine had finished the kitchen so I am in the process of unpacking all our kitchen things and getting them into drawers and cabinets. It's a little overwhelming, but exciting at the same time! We are very glad to have such supportive families that offer to help with the house.

OK, well awhile back I had started a workout video... the 30 day shred. I loved it. I was doing it *almost* everyday. I was scheduling time for it, I was eating a lil better and I was feeling good. I had more energy and was starting to feel toned. On day 17 I got the flu and didn't feel myself for about 4 days. Then I was unmotivated and about 4 weeks have passed that I have done nothing (except eat junk food). I had another fitting, and my dress fit, however I still don't feel the best right now. I am going to start the 30 day shred tomorrow. My plan is to get up at 6am and do the workout (about 25 mins) before I go to work. I have been eating less between meals, which is normally where I junk the most. I have 2 months from tomorrow until the *Big day* to get in shape. I want to be toned and look nice in my dress/swim suit for the honeymoon! I should be able to get through the 30 day shred two times!
PLEASE keep me motivated! LOL!

A lil over 2 months...

OK, so I told Meredith I would try really hard to write at least once a week until the wedding, and that was about 3 weeks ago! lol, so here's my start and we'll see if I can keep up with it.

The wedding is in about 2 months! It feels like we just got engaged, but the time has gone by so fast!! The planning has been fun so far, but I think the planning I'm doing now is most fun because everything seems so real and so close. The past two Mondays Todd and I have gone down to my Uncle's (he's marrying us) for our pre marriage counseling. It was great. We loved talking about each other and our faith and trust in God and we really feel like we're on the same page. Last night, we went over more of the actual ceremony "stuff". My uncle wrote his own vows (different from the traditional) and he read them to us to make sure we'd like them. As he was reading I could picture us up there on July 11 and I started to get teary eyed. I'm so excited to be marrying my best friend, the one I can tell anything to, the one I want to spend my time with. He's a great guy and I hope he knows how much I not only love him, but appreciateh him.

For those of you who may remember the dream I had about my flowers being all wrong on the wedding day... last night it was wedding day and no one was at the hair appointments so everything started running late... All this stress makes people crazy.

We bought a house!! I don't know if I have actually blogged about it, but most of you do know. It's coming along slowly but surely. We are finally able to see changes. The bathroom is all tore apart now and just waiting for the new plumbing before we put everything back into it. Todd rented a sander and is planning on sanding the hardwood living room floor on saturday, which means throughout the week we will stain and varnish the floor and it will be complete. Once that and the bathroom is done, we just have to clean everything up and start moving stuff in to make it feel like a home! OOhhh & I bought a new stove! It's a glass top/ flat top (whatever it's called) and it's the black and silver to match the rest of our appliances. I got it at the Maytag scratch and dent sidewalk sale! I love it!

Today is voting day... if issue one fails the MRDD schools are closing (in Stark Co.) and I will be out of a job. If the levy passes I may still be out of a job because there will be cuts. For the kids sake I hope the levy passes. I can always find a new job.

more wedding stuff

I was able to cross a few more things off my list today. My mom and I drove up to Akron and picked out the chair covers and bows. We went with a simple white cotton chair cover with a sheer deep blue bow tied on the back. I also found the flower girl shoes on sale for $10 at David's Bridal and I happened to get all the sizes I needed!! Mom got her Mother of the Bride dress and she is beautiful in it! ;) (But i guess I am a little biased)
I found a limo bus that will fit the wedding party, a lil more $ than I was "budgeting" for, but we've saved on lots so far so I guess we'll make a decision on that one soon. The limo is the last "big" thing we had to do, now it's down to the list.
I started stressing out today and I had to call my best friend and talk for nearly 2 hours! Todd wasn't so sure about me talking to his sister for that long, but he is going to have to learn to understand! haha
Things are falling into place and I know they will all work out. I am trying to keep in mind that the most important part of July 11, 2009 isn't the "things" rather the fact that I am marrying a wonderful man who I love very much!

My first fitting for my dress is the end of March. I NEED to start working out to get in shape and get toned. During our 2 hour conversation (lol) Meredith told me about a 30 day work out video that makes you lose a dress size (not that thats what I'm striving for) in a month. We are going to be each others motivators and do this work out. (If you'd like a good laugh, I'm sure you'll get one if you ask us how our progress is coming with it lol)

Other that wedding stuff: I am turning in the last of my paper work for alternate assessments for work, so that will take some stress off me. My Praxis 3 assessment (to attain my teaching license for good) is scheduled for next Thursday so that is coming up. Speech season will be over the first week of March. I do love it and it's a good time, but it is "extra" stuff to do on top of my first year teaching and planning a wedding. We have our national qualifying tournament this weekend in Copley and if we have anyone qualify we will be heading to Alabama for a week in June... how exciting?! =)

*PS Bart I AM going to try to post more than once a month!! lol

SnOw DaY!!

Today was a snow day! Yippee! I had time to do a little more wedding stuff. The flower girl dresses I ordered finally came in today!!! They are super cute! I ordered the bubbles for the ceremony, petals for the flower girls, the favors for the reception, and started working on our save the dates. I was able to cross a few things off my "to do" list. There's lots to do, but I'm not complaining because it's fun.

I just scheduled my praxis 3, for anyone that doesnt know what that is, it is an observation which i need to pass in order to maintain my teaching license... I'm nervous, but I will just prepare and do my best.

I got to drive down to columbus to see my soon to be nephew's dedication. He's getting so big, he's like a little man now. I've also been logging on to see pictures of my new soon to be niece. She's a cute pie.

OK, I'm thinking I should probably get some school work done since I had a whole day off to work on it... =)

Savannah

Savannah Harper is finally here! My soon to be sister-in-law (aka, one of my best friends) just had her first baby, a little girl named Savannah Harper. They live in North Carolina so I haven't had time to meet her yet. It's so exciting though! I remember back when she told me we were pregnant on our trip to New York City and now 9 months later, here she is. They are going to make great parents and I'm so happy for them!

Wedding plans are coming along. I just got the flower girl dresses and baskets. I've been getting little things here and there. I think we finally decided on favors for the reception. There are just little things we are crossing off our list. I had a dream the other night that it was the wedding day. I did my own makeup and my best friend (same one mentioned above) was commenting on my makeup... in the dream i kept saying "this is just a dream, im getting my makeup done for my real wedding"! HaHa, how funny is that?
